As a Senior Data/AI Engineer, you play a key role in challenging data and AI projects. You combine technical depth with coaching and help colleagues and clients make the right decisions. You are a technical go-to expert, contribute to architecture discussions, and guide projects from design to implementation. 

Your responsibilities may include: 

• Translating business challenges into scalable data and AI solutions. 
• Acting as a technical sparring partner for clients, consultants, and engineers. 
• Designing and building modern data and AI platforms in Azure. 
• Supporting architecture decisions, scope definition, and technical decision-making. 
• Working on modern data and AI challenges, for example in the areas of GenAI, AI Agents, RAG, and MLOps. 
• Structuring projects and helping define deliverables and implementation approaches. 
• Actively contributing to the development of junior and medior colleagues. 
• Collaborating with Business Development to translate client needs into technical solutions. 
• Actively contributing to knowledge sharing within Datacation. 
• Presenting technical solutions and recommendations to clients and stakeholders. 
• Making an active contribution to the further development of our new office in East Netherlands. 

• At least 5 years of experience in data engineering, data science, machine learning, and/or MLOps. 
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms, Python, SQL, data modelling, and modern AI tooling, focused on building production-ready solutions. 
• Experience guiding and coaching colleagues. 
• The ability to explain technical choices clearly to a variety of stakeholders. 
• Strong organizational skills and a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset. 
• Excellent command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written. 
• A proactive attitude and entrepreneurial mindset.
