The data model used by the Chief Commercial Office (CCO) of ING Wholesale Banking consisted of a wide range of disparate data sources across different locations. This fragmentation limited the ability to create consistent and reliable reports. Datacation was tasked with simplifying and improving the underlying data structure and making the data accessible through insightful PowerBI dashboards.

Through interactive working sessions at ING’s headquarters in Amsterdam, the domain knowledge of the ING team was combined with the technical expertise of Datacation. Together, they translated business questions into initial visual sketches, which served as the foundation for a simplified and robust data model.

Datacation consolidated all separate data sources into one streamlined data structure. Based on this model, more than ten interactive PowerBI dashboards were developed. These dashboards are now used globally by ING Wholesale Banking Front Office teams and provide consistent, actionable insights based on customer data, using the latest PowerBI capabilities.
