Realtime insight, faster audits, lower risk of non-compliance

The storage of hazardous materials is subject to strict regulations regarding how and where products may be stored. Broekman Logistics wanted full assurance that these rules were consistently applied – at every location, at all times. In the existing setup, many manual checks were required, making the process error-prone, time-consuming, and difficult to scale. The company needed a smart, automated solution to support storage processes and ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.

Datacation developed an automated control system that continuously monitors whether hazardous substances are stored in accordance with segregation regulations. Broekman contributed operational knowledge and system access, while Datacation was responsible for the technical design and integration into the existing IT environment.

At the core of the system is a decision matrix that automatically checks each day whether products are correctly allocated, based on data from Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and internal mapping tables. Using Microsoft Power Automate and a custom-built Azure application, all relevant data is retrieved, analyzed, and processed automatically. Any deviations are immediately flagged, and the database is continuously kept up to date – significantly reducing the need for manual checks.

The solution is stable, scalable, and fully managed by Broekman Logistics. Storage processes have become more efficient, and the risk of errors has been greatly reduced. Regulatory deviations are flagged instantly, making audits easier and increasing the overall reliability of compliance processes.

With this automation step, Broekman has strengthened its compliance and established a future-proof foundation for further digitalization across the logistics chain.
