Cubigo
AI Assistant – "Emma helps 24/7"

Datacation and Cubigo are partnering within the Interreg Crossroads project “Welcome Jacky,” which aims to digitize and streamline the intake and onboarding process for new residents in care facilities. Cubigo offers a digital platform that supports care homes in communication and interaction with residents, family members, and care professionals. Within this project, Datacation focuses primarily on integrating AI to enhance and simplify the intake process. Together, we are creating a seamless and efficient experience for both new residents and care staff.

Reduced administrative workload and increased independence for residents.

The aging population puts unsustainable pressure on healthcare staff, who currently spend up to 40% of their time on routine administration (like schedules or orders). At the same time, the elderly are expected to do more themselves but often lack the digital skills for traditional applications. Healthcare organizations are therefore looking for digital tools that increase productivity while remaining intuitive and accessible for older users.

Within the Cubigo platform, Datacation develops the underlying AI logic and voice technology (voice-to-text / text-to-speech) for the assistant Emma. This context-aware AI focuses on two groups:

  • Virtual assistant (care professional): Supports the back office by automatically registering and processing routine tasks—such as signing a resident up for an activity or requesting transport—via voice or text.
  • Virtual concierge (resident): Empowers the elderly through an accessible interface. Residents can easily ask Emma questions about the weather, the news, the activity schedule, or book services themselves.

Thanks to Emma, care professionals are relieved of administrative burdens. The ambition is for Emma to autonomously handle 33% of routine front-desk requests within one year. This lowers the workload, reduces errors, and frees up time for actual care. Meanwhile, the human-centric AI interface ensures residents keep control over their day, without the frustration of complex screens. This results in a scalable application of hybrid, future-proof care.

(This initiative is financially supported by the Interreg CrossRoads Vlaanderen-Nederland 5.0 call.)
